Department Information

The Finance Department is an internal service department that oversees and coordinates the financial and accounting operations of Athens Utilities three separate enterprise funds.  The enterprise funds, which operate as separate financial entities, are (1) Electric Department (2) Gas Department (3) Water Services Department.  The Finance Department is primarily responsible for accounting, financial reporting, investing, debt management, information technology, procurement and inventory control.  The Department also provides support functions on issues such as budgeting, cost analysis and capital planning.
